Delete your account

Last updated: 20 August 2026

You can delete your Tackle Cancer Challenge account and your personal data at any time. This page explains how to do it and exactly what happens to your data.

If you still have the app

This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open the Tackle Cancer Challenge app and go to your profile settings.
  2. Choose Delete my account.
  3. Sign in again when prompted. We ask for this so that nobody else can delete your account.
  4. Confirm. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.

If you no longer have the app

Send an email to contact@oncidium-life.org with the subject Delete my account, from the email address you used to sign in.

Before deleting anything, we check that the request really comes from the account holder, and we may write back to the address registered on the account to confirm. This step exists so that nobody can have someone else's account deleted simply by writing to us. You do not need to reinstall the app.

We complete verified requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

Request account deletion

What is deleted

What is kept, and why

We keep the anonymised totals of your recorded activity — activity type, distance, duration and date, with every trace of who recorded them removed.

The reason is that Tackle Cancer Challenge is a collective challenge. Distances you contributed have already been counted towards your team's total, towards the progress of the challenge, and towards sectors that other participants have crossed. Erasing them would retroactively change results that other people took part in. Keeping them in anonymised form leaves those results intact while removing you from them.

Once anonymised, this data can no longer be linked back to you, and it is no longer personal data under the GDPR. Where you appeared before — in past rankings or as the participant who crossed a sector — you appear as a deleted user.

Crash reports and session replays are a separate case. They never carried your name, your email address or your account identifier in the first place, so there is nothing in them to delete, and Sentry removes them automatically 90 days after they arrive. The Privacy Policy describes them in full.

Can I get my account back?

No. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your data has been anonymised there is nothing left that links it to you, so we could not restore your account even if you asked us to.

You are free to sign up again later with the same email address. It will be an entirely new, empty account — your previous profile, history, totals and content are not attached to it and cannot be recovered.
